The Marubi National Museum of Photography is glad to invite you at the inaugural exhibition “Nadar. Convention and caprice” curated by Michel Poivert.
A unique selection of images from the most prestigious photography studio in France, at the end of 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, shows us how the classic portrait of the “great men” of the 19th century invented by Félix, gives space to the success of theatre actors photographed by his son Paul in the beginning of the 20 century. The business target of portrait goes from sobriety to fantasy and reflects the revolution of society where the codes of celebrity have changed.
This exhibition is organized by Jeu de Paume, Paris, in collaboration with the Multimedia library of architecture and heritage, Ministry of Culture of Albania and France and the French Embassy in Tirana with the participation of the Marubi National Museum of Photography for its presentation in Shkodër.
